Plain-English terms for using Sunsipper. They're written to be readable, not to bury you in clauses — but they are the terms, and using the app means you accept them. This page isn't legal advice.

Using Sunsipper

By using Sunsipper you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the app. You can browse most of Sunsipper without an account; some features, like saving favourite terraces, need you to sign in.

Sun times are estimates, not guarantees

This is the important one. Sunsipper shows modeled sun estimates— our best calculation of where the sun and shadows fall. They're grounded in real city data and astronomy, but they are still estimates. We don't account for weather, clouds, trees, umbrellas, or last-minute changes at a venue, and we can't promise a given terrace will be sunny, open, or even there. Use Sunsipper as a helpful guide and check with your own eyes before you count on it. Don't rely on it for anything where being wrong actually matters.

Be reasonable

Please use Sunsipper for its intended purpose — finding a nice spot in the sun. Don't try to break it, overload it, scrape it wholesale, copy its data or content, resell it, or use it to harm others or break the law. We may limit or end access that does any of those.

Your account

If you create an account, keep your sign-in secure and don't impersonate anyone. You can ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

What belongs to whom

Sunsipper's name, design, content, and the way we present sun information are ours, and you may not copy or reuse them without permission. Underlying public data we build on remains subject to the licences of its original sources. The map and other third-party components belong to their respective owners.

No warranties

Sunsipper is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features at any time.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Sunsipper isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app, including decisions you make based on its sun estimates. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the date at the top when we do, and continuing to use Sunsipper means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, and any disputes fall to the competent courts there.
